Mont Blanc Glacier Tour: Which Camp Is Yours

A glacier tour around Mont Blanc means one of three things. In Chamonix, you look at the Mer de Glace from Montenvers and, in season, walk into the ice cave. In Courmayeur, you ride the Skyway to 3,466 m and step onto the glacier with a guide. Or you learn to climb ice on the Mer de Glace itself.

The compromise
The Chamonix side has the reviews and the ice cave, but the cave is shut until 18 December. The Italian side is open to a guided walk on the ice, but its tours are new, with one review between them.
