Chamonix Ski Day Trip from Geneva Reviews

Reviewers love the all-in-one setup; the one complaint is a confusing bus boarding in Geneva.

“
Got picked up on time, taken to chamonix and showed the ski shop who fitted us out with good quality gear. Our guide gave us advice on which part to go to and the bus to take to the slopes. We were then left to do our own thing whilst the guide took the rest of the coach on a different tour and we met him back at the bus stop at 17:00. It was a good tour to have everything organised, particularly because we’d never been to chamonix but still had freedom to do our own thing Issabella, 27 Dec 2025, 5/5
“
Very convenient way to ski for a day. Everything clear, no need to to think. The slopes accommodate all levels, food options s are great. Equipment quality was good and loved that clothing was also provided. Ski w/mont Blanc views! Orla, 20 Feb 2025, 5/5
“
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was definitely worth the money! The bus pickup location was easy to find, ski hire was super easy, you got a decent amount of time to ski + explore the mountain ranges/runs and we even got little bit of time in Chamonix to explore the town. The only negative piece of feedback was the initial getting on the bus, when you arrive at the bus location there is multiple trips running at once so it’s a bit chaotic trying to find which one you’re on. Maybe because it was so early in the morning the guides / drivers we were a little bit blasé so it created a bit of unnecessary stress trying to figure out if you’re in the right place. Some appropriate signage would be better next to the bus parking bays would be great so you know which one to get on. Kirk, 24 Feb 2025, 5/5

Chamonix Ski Day Trip from Geneva FAQ

The first sentence of every answer is the answer.

It costs from €233 per person for the bus, a ski pass for 3 areas, rental skis or snowboard with boots, and rental ski clothes. The option with a morning Aiguille du Midi ride costs from €271, so the upgrade adds €38. Food, drinks and a ski instructor are not included. For context, the official adult Aiguille du Midi return alone costs €60.20–83.00 in 2026. Check the price for your date in the live calendar.

No, a ski instructor is not included; a host takes you to Chamonix, shows you the rental shop and the shuttle to the slopes, and then you ski on your own. Reviewers describe it as mainly transport with gear sorted, not a guided ski day. That works well for confident skiers and boarders. If you need teaching, book the private first ski lesson, from €259 per person for 3 hours with equipment and clothing.

Beginners can ski on it, but nobody teaches you, so it suits people who can already turn and stop. The listing says the valley has 3 dedicated beginner slopes and names Le Tour as the largest beginner area. If you have never skied, a lesson first is the safer plan. Compare lessons and gentler winter outings on the Mont Blanc snowshoeing tour page.

When we checked on 29 Sep 2026, dates were open from 19 Dec 2026 to 31 Mar 2027. Nothing was on sale before 19 Dec. If you want the Aiguille du Midi upgrade, pick a date after its autumn closure, which runs until 19 Dec 2026 by the widest source. Snow and lift openings decide the real season, so check live dates close to your trip in the live calendar.

Yes, rental ski clothes are included for adult guests; the listing excludes children from the clothing rental. Reviewers mention good-quality gear and clothing as a highlight. Bring your own goggles, gloves and sunblock, since one reviewer recommends them and they are not listed. You also need your passport for the border crossing. Reserve in the live calendar.

The pass covers 3 areas: Le Brévent-La Flégère, Les Grands-Montets and Balme. The listing says the ski areas start at about 2,000 m and lifts reach over 3,000 m, and it calls Les Grands-Montets a favorite of many locals for its steepness. The bus drops you at Chamonix Sud, where shuttles run to the ski departures. Pick your date in the live calendar.

Yes, if it is open on your date: +€38 gets you a morning ride to 3,842 m, less than the official adult return fare of €60.20–83.00. You give up a morning of skiing in exchange. The Aiguille du Midi is closed until 19 Dec 2026, so the upgrade only works on later dates. If the view matters more than the slopes, the cable car and train day adds the Montenvers train too.

The bus leaves from the Geneva bus station area at Place Dorcière, 1201 Genève, and drops you at Chamonix Sud. Several day trips depart from the same spot in the morning, and one reviewer found boarding confusing, so arrive early and ask which bus is the ski trip. Bring your passport. Book your seat in the live calendar.

For a confident skier without a car, this is a whole Chamonix ski day for from €233, all gear and clothing included.
