Mont Blanc Tour Map: Two Trips, Two Maps

“Mont Blanc tour” means two different trips, and each has its own map. The day tour is a line: from Geneva up the Arve valley to Chamonix, then straight up the mountain by cable car or train, and back the same day. The Tour du Mont Blanc is a circle: a trek round the whole massif, on foot, over 9–14 days.

Courmayeur is Chamonix’s mirror on the Italian side, at the other end of the 11.6 km Mont Blanc Tunnel. Its lift, the Skyway Monte Bianco, starts at 1,300 m in Pontal d’Entrèves and climbs in two sections — 4 and 7 minutes — via the Pavillon at 2,173 m to Punta Helbronner at 3,466 m.
