“It's a great experience that I fully recommend for 1day trips from Milan. In 3h30min we were already in Courmayeur, thank to our super driver Lorenzo. Those 3h passed in a great atmosphere created by our guide Roberto, who shared with us interesting historical, geographical and cultural details about each region we passed. Going up was fast, Roberto organized everything smoothly and Monte Bianco intermediary and top views are magical. You have plenty of time to explore the surroundings an enjoy the terraces and restaurants with great views and traditional cuisine.”

The male guide was not very interactive, he did not give any historical or current information about the route, Mont Bianco or any other information about the local place. He just gave the instructions about the meeting points and timing. that's all. suggested to deploy some trained or experienced guide who entertains little with giving information about the tour route.”

Milan to Courmayeur on Your Own

Arriva runs a Courmayeur – Aosta – Milano line. In Milan it stops at Lampugnano, on the M1 red metro line. The direct GG-DIR runs every day with no changes; the GG runs every day with a bus change in Aosta. The current timetable is valid from 13 April to 30 November 2026 — check the times on Arriva before you plan the Skyway around them.

There is no train to Courmayeur. The railway serving the valley is the Chivasso–Aosta line, and from Aosta you continue by bus. By car it is the A5 Torino–Aosta–Courmayeur motorway; the Courmayeur tourist board gives 212 km from Milan Malpensa and 235 km from Linate.

Chamonix from Milan

Chamonix is on the French side, at the far end of the 11.6 km Mont Blanc Tunnel from Courmayeur. None of the tours in our catalogue drives from Milan to Chamonix; the French day tours all start in Geneva. The Aiguille du Midi goes higher, to 3,842 m, but from Milan the Skyway is the one that fits in a day.
